TuGo Fondly Remembers Mike Starko
- With deep sadness TuGo announces the unexpected passing of Mike Starko, Chief Claims Officer, on April 14, 2022.
Mike is survived by his loving family – wife Kathy, TuGo’s President, and their three children Zach, Emma, and Maria.
Mike will be greatly missed by his extended TuGo family, which he leaves with many happy memories. In his 30 years at TuGo, Mike had a tremendously positive influence on the company. Not only did he successfully lead the Claims team, but he also guided TuGo’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, something he cared about deeply.
Mike was integral in forming the company’s culture, responsible for developing a partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada, as well as establishing corporate donations programs to local and international charities. Mike also helped create TuGo's internal volunteer program, supporting employee volunteering in local communities. Outside of TuGo, Mike was also a valued and well-respected member of the Travel Health Insurance Association (THIA) Claims Committee.
Mike’s leadership, passion for social responsibility, and genuine care for TuGo and its people will be profoundly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at 4pm at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, BC.
